This past weekend I had the privilege of attending the annual GLSEN respect awards with one of my friends JJ. I’d been to this event once before three years ago and was so excited to go again! GLSEN (The Gay, Lesbian, Straight, Education network) is an amazing organization that works to ensure safe and affirming schools for all, regardless or their gender identity, sexual orientation, or gender expression. They’re seriously amazing and making schools much safer, more inclusive, and a happier place for all students.
The respect awards honor students, educators, individuals and corporations that have made an impact on the lives of LGBTQ+ students. This night was crazy inspirational seeing all these kids and peers my age who are brave and unapologetic for who they are, and are putting themselves out there and open to backlash to make the world a better place.
Here are some pictures from the night, so grateful for this opportunity and what a blast that night was!
As I said above I fell in LOVE with this dress from the Jetset Diaries called their sunset dress. But how often after events do we have the opportunity to wear these gorgeous dresses again? Probably never especially now with social media you’re going to want a new dress for the next event but who wants to pay $200 or $300 every time another one rolls around? Not me. I actually rented this dress from the most amazing company full of Girlbosses called The Stylist LA for a fraction of the price! So easy and SO affordable! I highly recommend them, they ship all over the nation but if you’re local in Los Angeles I suggest going into their show room and trying the pieces on yourself. All the girls are so sweet and they’re options are to die for!
